What’s included in a service

Around an hour on site, on any door type, whoever fitted it.

Full mechanism inspection

Springs, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, tracks and fixings all checked for wear, tension and alignment.

Lubrication and adjustment

Moving parts cleaned and lubricated, tension adjusted so the door is properly balanced and holds position.

Electric opener check

Motor, travel limits, force settings, remotes and battery backup tested and reset where needed.

Safety reverse test

On automatic doors we test that the door reverses on obstruction. This is the check most people never think about.

Seals and weatherproofing

Bottom and side seals inspected for perishing, and replaced if they are letting in water or draughts.

Written condition report

What we adjusted, what is wearing, and what will likely need attention in the next twelve months.

Why annual servicing matters

Garage doors fail gradually and then suddenly. Springs lose tension over thousands of cycles, cables fray a strand at a time, and rollers wear until the door starts to bind. None of it is visible until the door stops working. A service catches those things while they are still adjustments rather than emergencies. It is also a safety issue: a door under spring tension that lets go can do real damage, and the safety reverse on an automatic door is the only thing protecting anyone standing underneath it.
