A Local Garage Door
Company, Not a Call Centre

ACM Garage Doors is a Wellingborough-based family business fitting, repairing and servicing garage doors across Northamptonshire. The person who quotes your door is the person who fits it, and the person you ring if it needs adjusting a year later.

Based here, working here

We work out of Wellingborough and cover the county from it — Northampton, Kettering and the villages in between. Every job is done by our own fitters. Nothing is subcontracted out, which means the standard of the work is ours to answer for, and it means you deal with the same people from the first phone call to the aftercare.

  • Wellingborough-based, covering all of Northamptonshire
  • Our own fitters on every job — no subcontractors
  • Domestic and commercial work, all makes and door types
Safety

Why we make a point of the boring checks

A garage door is the heaviest moving object most houses have, and it is held in balance by springs under serious tension. When a spring or cable lets go on a door nobody has looked at for ten years, it does not fail gently. That is why every service includes a safety reverse test on automatic doors and a proper look at the cables, fixings and spring tension, whether or not anything has been reported as wrong. It is the least interesting part of the visit and the part most likely to matter.

What We Promise

Four things we hold ourselves to

Not marketing lines. These are the things customers ring up about, so they are the things we get right.

01

We turn up when we said

A time slot, not “sometime Tuesday”. If something overruns you get a phone call before the slot passes, not after it.

02

The price we quote is the price

Written, itemised, with the lead time we actually expect. No day-rate creep and nothing added on the invoice that was not discussed.

03

We will talk you out of work

If a door has years left in it we will say so and charge you for the repair instead of the replacement. A sale we talk ourselves out of costs less than a customer who feels sold to.

04

We come back

Doors bed in and need adjusting. That visit is part of the job, not a new one, and it is the same fitter who knows what he set it to.

Questions people ask before booking

On repeat visits to the same door, yes wherever we can. The fitter who set the tension on a door is the right person to adjust it, and we keep a record of what was done last time.

Yes. A perished seal or a set of worn rollers is a perfectly normal call-out. We would rather do the small job now than the emergency one later.

Yes, we carry public liability insurance and can provide the certificate on request — commercial clients usually ask for it before we attend site.

Card or bank transfer on completion for repairs and servicing. Installations are a deposit at the point of order with the balance once the door is fitted and you are happy with it.
